On Friday I recorded a fun little spot for “ABC World News with Charles Gibson” on how to eat sushi at a sushi bar. At left you can see ABC correspondent Miguel Marquez and me stuffing Spanish-mackerel nigiri in our mouths. We discussed the dos and don’ts of wasabi, ginger, chopsticks, etc. Watch the video here.
We filmed the segment at Sushi Go 55, a little sushi bar upstairs in a mall in Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. You’d never know it, but Sushi Go 55 probably represents the oldest sushi operation in the United States—it’s run by the Morishita family, which opened the second sushi bar in America back in the 1960s, called Eigiku.
